Extension of the term of validity of supplementary protection certificates

The maximum period of validity of the supplementary protection certificate shall be five years. In the case of medicinal products for which studies have been carried out in accordance with a paediatric investigation plan approved by the European Medicines Agency, this period may be extended for a further six months, subject to compliance with the prescribed conditions, on the basis of an application for an extension of the term of the supplementary protection certificate for medicinal products.
