SIEA grants

The Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic (IPO SR), in cooperation with the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA), offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to obtain financial support for the protection of their innovations within the national project "Increasing the Innovative Performance of the Slovak Economy 2" in the field of patents. Under the call, support can also be obtained for other innovative activities (e.g., product certification). The IPO SR provides information primarily on the part of the support related to patent protection.

 

What can you receive support for?

 This is financial support for slovak companies for measures related to patenting, so that they can better protect their innovations and bring them to market – both at home and abroad.

 

What form does the support take?

 Support is provided in the form of Innovation vouchers.

 

How much can be obtained?

  • Minimum amount: € 2,000
  • Maximum amount: € 15,000

The aid intensity is a maximum of 85% of the total eligible expenditure for the implementation of the innovation project.

 

Who can apply for support?

An eligible applicant may be a natural or legal person (company) based in Slovakia who has not yet obtained an innovation voucher for this specific call and meets the eligibility conditions.

How can the voucher be used?

In the field of patents, the output of the project may be, for example:

  • Confirmation of the filing of a new patent application.
  • Confirmation of payment of the relevant fees.

 

How is the application submitted? 

  1. Registration on the INOWA portal.
  2. Preparation and electronic submission of the application according to the instructions in the manual.
  3. Assessment of the application by SIEA.
  4. Signing of the contract and issuance of the voucher.
  5. Implementation of the project (maximum 12 months).
  6. Submission of the voucher reimbursement request.

 

When is the deadline for submitting an application?

 The call is open and will remain so until December 1, 2027, or until the indicative amount of funds has been exhausted (until the total allocation has been exhausted).
