Online filing

Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic offers possibility to file EP and PCT applications in elec-tronic form with effect from 1 January 2006.

• EP and PCT filings can be done using eOLF (epoline® Online Filing) software offered by the EPO using smart cards issued by EPO.
• PCT filings can be done using PCT-SAFE software offered by the WIPO using digital certificate issued by WIPO.

Electronic filing of applications or Online Filing presents the fast, safe way to file patent applications via Internet directly from your PC. It enables to prepare patent applications in electronic form and file them via safe electronic submission or using physical medium (CD or DVD) to IPO SK. Note - all smart cards must be registered before they can be accepted for filing to the IPO SK. Digital cer-tificates issued by WIPO do not need to be registered.

What you need to do for electronic filing application:

1. Decide which software you want to use (eOLF or PCT-SAFE) and order or download the required software from EPO homepage or WIPO homepage.
2. Order a smart card or a digital certificate.
3. Contact IPO SK for setting IPO SK as receiving office.
4. Register your smart card to the IPO SK. Digital certificates do not need to be registered.
