The European Inventor Award has been awarded regularly since 2006 and brings together some of the world´s brightest innovators, as well as leading figures from business, politics, media and the sciences in European and also non-European countries. The Award shall support the creativity and motivation of inventors to promote their products. The Award is one of the most prestigious awards in this area.
The Award is granted in five categories: Industry, SMEs, Research, Lifetime Achievement, Non-European Countries. The jury consists of international authorities in the fields of politics, business, media, science, academia and research. The following criteria have to be met – high degree of inventiveness, practical application, demonstrable market success or potential in Europe, and clearly recognisable benefits for the economy and society.
Anyone can submit an entry: whether you work in industry, at a university or research institute or for a professional association, are an individual inventor, or simply have an interest in the work these people do, there are no restrictions.
